We listened to some Carpenters and agreed to work on this next time (September)
We’ve Only Just Begun
I’ve also asked if you could pop a sentence to me on WhatsApp as we try to spread the choir joy recruiting new singers and luring back those who have fallen by the wayside! Just a reason to join the choir please so that I can make it into a cave slide and we can share far and wide.
Thank you all. I’ve really enjoyed reconnecting with you this season and look forward to more!
We worked on ‘1000 Years’ – DEADLINE SATURDAY AT MIDNIGHT!
We also worked on the first ‘We are sailing’ art from ‘The Rose’ which is truly lovely.
Up tempo (slightly… too hot for much else!) with ‘The Best Day of My Life’ which is a great tune. ‘Eternal Flame’ was our throwback song and we finished with ‘Summer of 69’.
Next week is our final session before our summer break and I’m asking for suggestions (I may live to regret this decision) – pop them in the WhatsApp group and I’ll see what I can do xxxxx
I talked a little bit about the Code of Conduct which can be found on your website. This is a choir leader industry thing and isn’t aimed at anyone our any particular problem. It’s there to protect you and me and is fairly straight forward. I will share the link in the WhatsApp group too.
We had a go through on both parts for 1000 years – I’d like everyone to record both please. The conducting videos are on this website with the folders to upload to. You know how it all works!
We started a new song ‘The Rose / We are sailing’ which went down really well. It’s a beautiful arrangement by Abi Moore. We worked through the first verse in all of the three parts. Well done everyone! I think this is going to be a winner….
Then we sang some old classics – Eternal Flame and Happy Ending.
I taught the chorus harmonies for Club Tropicana. This is so that you can belt it out with your mates over the summer and wow them with your harmonises – you’re welcome. And we finished with Lovely Day.
It’s the morning slot again! A little pocket of happiness to brighten your day.
Voting has suggested that 1000 years is our next recording project! Yippee!!
I’ll teach this and go over it again for the next session on Wednesday 13th July. I’ll create the videos and files for uploading materials and we’ll get it mixed ready for our final session before the summer break (27th July)
I’ll get the new term dates out from September really soon and I’m delighted that we will be continuing after Christmas too!
It’s never too late to join us so please share our choir with your colleagues wherever you can.
We’ll have a warm up first (as ever) then straight into the 2 parts for 1000 Years.
